Starting a blog

Well, I'm not sure exactly what I hope to accomplish starting into the blogging venture. I'm hoping it will be a way to bring together things about crafting, and soapmaking, parenting, and a little of everything. Sometimes you just have to vent, you know?

I have a full time job, not something I want to do forever but you need something that pays the bills. It's not miserable, it just doesn't tap into anything I love or enjoy, so it is tolerable at best. I also have a small business, Bunnies & Buggies Bath Boutique, for which I make handcrafted soaps, lotions, body products, shower gels, you name it, I make it. That's what I love. I would love to be doing that full time but we're not there just yet. Hopefully soon. As the old saying goes, "if you do something you love, you'll never work a day in your life."  I think that holds true. I can be in a time crunch to ship out 200 soaps for a wedding in a week, but I still enjoy it. It's not stressful, it's fun.

That aside, I (well, and my husband), am raising an 8 year old recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. And dealing with all that comes with that, and trying to accept it. It isn't easy. You think your kid is tough? I'd consider trading you mine for a week and yours will seem like an angel by comparison. And my heart goes out to all the parents dealing with even worse than what I am every day. I don't know how you do it.

I'd also love to share some craft ideas, and maybe some do-it-yourself body care recipes, and whatever else is spilling out of my brain on any given day. Maybe no one will ever read it, but you know everything on the internet is saved forever, so I'm trying to think of it like a little time capsule of sorts.
